North Texas NTS Traffic Handler Task Book Draft
Hi everyone,
One of the pieces of feedback I’ve received over time is the need for a learning path for traffic handlers looking to build their skills. While traffic nets offer a place to build skills and become familiar with regular operations, there are additional skills that can be learned outside of these regular sessions, such as through simulated emergency tests or functional exercises. Given our work with public safety agencies, Incident Command System can also be of benefit to learn about.
After soliciting some initial feedback, I am ready to share a draft version of the NTS Traffic Handler Task Book which contains a path towards building quality traffic handling and emergency operations skills, and follows a leveling/credentialing path familiar to the emergency communications space, starting with Level 4 and working upwards to Level 1.
Please take a look at this draft and let me know your thoughts and feedback. If you would like to meet to review ‘in person,’ I have set up a Zoom meeting for those interested. It’s scheduled for this Saturday at 3 pm CDT, and you can register via this link:
Please keep an eye on this site for more information.
